5 of 10 Smartphones in the U. K. run Android

smartphones android

When visiting the U. K. and looking to see what phones the locals use, odds are that every other one has Google Android device in hand. Research from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech by way of the Mobile Business Briefing indicates that Android phones command a 49. 9 percent market share in the U. K., up from 29 percent a year ago. Much of the Android share comes at the expense of a competitor you might expect to be hurting too badly: Apple’s iphone.

The data shows that Apple’s market share in the U. K. has fallen to 18. 5 percent, which is down from 33 percent last year. That reduction has allowed Research In Motion to capture the no. 2 spot with 22. 5 percent of sales. Other notable figures outside the top three include Nokia devices (6 percent) and Microsoft handsets with a scant 1. 4 percent of sales.

There are a few reasons I can think of that explain the numbers, and I expect a bit of a reversal in the next six months or so. First, even though the iPhone 4 was a popular model for more than a year, other Android phones arrived to the market before the traditional yearly iPhone refresh. I suspect some in the U. K. decided not to wait for the iPhone 4S and instead purchased a new Samsung or HTC device. Indeed, these two handset makers accounted for 83 percent of all Android sales in the U. K. in the three-month period ending Oct. 2.

The lack of a new iPhone model also came at a time when smartphone adoption in the country was hitting its stride. Kantar Worldpanel ComTech says 69 percent of U. K. handset sales in the most recent quarter were smartphones. With a growing demand, consumers are likely to gravitate toward the newest device models.

Will the market share mix continue with Android leading the pack? I imagine Android will continue to be the market leader, but Apple will leapfrog back over RIM thanks to the new iPhone 4S. There are surely buyers for both iPhones and BlackBerry devices, but in general, RIM still doesn’t offer near the experience, functionality or diversity of applications found on the latest iPhone. Perhaps that will change when RIM launches phones with the new BBX platform, but that’s looking like a 2012 event at this point.

And RIM will soon be facing a new challenge from Nokia, which has long been a cherished brand in Europe. The latest Windows Phones devices built by Nokia will be available in the U. K. starting this month. Microsoft’s newest software, combined within Nokia’s excellent hardware will mean that RIM is likely to be facing multiple challengers for that no. 2 spot.

Sprint HTC EVO Review by Tao Wireless

HTC EVO Review

A new study here at Tao Wireless says, there are more cellphones in america than people. With all the ever growing popularity and fascination of cell phones, larger numbers of people rely on them. The causes cell phone companies to compete for bragging rights. Modern-day trend would be the 3D technology with no 3D glasses. The earliest phone to come out using this type of technology is Sprints HTC EVO 3d. Today we can review this awesome mobile phone and look at its specs.

The HTC EVO 3d for Sprint is America's first 4G Smartphone by using a very distinctive 4. 3" 3d qHD display that lets users to capture, record, and playback in 3D - without 3d glasses! With the most modern edition of the acclaimed HTC Sense experience for your visitors and coupled with
Android 2.3 "Gingerbread", HTC EVO 3D is ideal for users who want to both stream video and generate their own personal video experience to record life's moments, view them in 3d, and share them easily. Users can easily download movies, create user-generated content, and receive a Flash-enabled web browsing experience making use of speed of a typical 3G/4G network as well as the power of the 1. 2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

This dual-core processor will never be the same fastest available on the market, but certainly no slouch. The apps do load very quickly and without fuss. HTC EVO 3d takes full advantage of Sprint's powerful 4G network and offers the innovation one would expect since the next benchmark device in the prestigious EVO legendary devices. It will appear as if a standard HTC Smartphone that came from the front, but turn it on its side and you'll see that's it's chunkier than most at 126 x 65. 4 x 11mm and weighing in with a heavyweight 170g. All four standard Android buttons are present and proper under the screen, while on the edges there are a microUSB power/sync slot, volume rocker, a significant camera shutter button and also a switch for flicking between 2D and 3D modes. There's a power/sleep button and 3. 5mm headphone jack number one in the twin camera lenses needed for stereoscopic pictures and two LED flashlights across the back. Additionally it uses the latest version of HTC's Sense gui, and that is an intuitive pleasure to work with.

Glasses-free 3d

This brings us nicely towards the 3D section of the phone. You don't want need glasses, and right, it certainly works, which has a surprisingly enticing depth of field, though the pixel quality drops a lttle bit when viewing 3D images. Your eyes may begin to cross before too long, but it's certainly an exciting party piece once your showing off your pictures clip taken with the stereoscopic cameras -- though you've got to view it straight on, and this doesn't take much of an angle to shed its effect. Features at the five-megapixel camera include auto focus, face detection and also a widescreen option.

HTC EVO Review by Tao Wireless

Standard 2D picture quality is okay. As the switch on the side lets you flick quickly between 2d and 3d, it won't permit you to take portrait shots in 3D -- in case you try; you ll receive a message letting you know to turn a virtual phone around. Most dual-core handsets offer 1080p full HD recording lately, still the Evo 3d adheres to 720p HD -- not quite so great, but actually not bad. There's also a 1. 3MP camera on your front for video calls. It's actually all right having a 3D phone, but HTC hasn't invested much in 3D content with it to date. There's no dedicated media portal, nevertheless you can download some 3D games direct from Gameloft's website and discover several 3d movie trailers on YouTube and also some so-so 3d games on your Android Market.

There's 1GB of memory storage on-board, even though you will increase up to 32GB via microSD card. However the battery the world is quite shockingly bad if you choose to make any utilization of the 3d, falling noticeably in need of the full day's use you might expect. You will find it good that you switch the 3D off when you are able.

ConclusionThe HTC Evo 3d has good distinctive features. Since it's new with new technology, it may cost over $400. 00 only when you travel to a few of the free cell phones websites like Tao Wireless or Wirefly. You will get it for under $200. 00 saving you a large chunk of money.

Just remember: if you're buying this model as part of a lengthy contract, you're stayed with that 3D effect long after the novelty could possibly have worn off.

2 factors the Android call can achieve that the iphone 3gs cannot

iphone 3gs illustrations

No matter whether or not you're a fan of the two greatest players within the smartphone industry, Google and Apple, there's no denying it; the battle is continuously evolving at a pace that even by far the most fanatic of gadget lovers will from time to time obtain difficult to follow. With new versions of their respective mobile operating systems coming out often and functions pouring out each and every time, it is challenging to determine no matter whether 1 is far better than the other. The entire factor is not surprisingly a matter of opinion, so here may be the 1 I present to you.

• Platform Openness

This getting the number 1 cause why I ditched my iPhone for a brand new Nexus S, it holds the initial location within the leading two causes why Android is improved than iPhone. Exactly where Apple has developed a closed, elitist method exactly where the only apps approved are the ones that they make a decision to let by way of, the Android Market place is a lot a lot more open and diverse. As well as if Apple likes to quote the seemingly smaller number of apps within the Industry compared towards the App Shop, let's not forget that you will discover a variety of alternate places to obtain apps and some developers either by no means publish towards the industry (there are actually "private" apps on the market), other people basically opt for other approaches of selling their software program towards the masses.

On best of this, due to the fact the Android OS is fully open source, the community about it makes it significantly a lot more than just an operating method run by a organization. If some thing will not function and annoys a great deal of users, these users can take matter into their very own hands and fix the problem themselves, submitting the outcomes for integration using the subsequent OS update. With Apple, you could only submit a bug report and pray.

That getting stated, it is critical in no way to forget that considering that the Android apps in no way go by way of an approval and verification method, it is not uncommon to hear people today warn about installing apps from third-party sources or even from unknown developers within the marketplace.

• Hardware Diversity

Apple and their fans have a really keen eye for style and it shows. The iPhone can be a lovely piece of hardware just like something Apple styles, and that is all beneficial and all... But when you do not like the iPhone style or should you just want one thing they do not supply, there's a pretty wide array of phones operating on the Android OS. Some will have extra input and output ports for example HDMI out, other people will have hardware keyboards and however other people will have trackballs. Screen size and good quality also varies and some phones will concentrate additional on thinking they're a camera than a telephone. Diversity is what makes us entire, it can be what makes us exceptional, plus the iPhone just isn't diverse.

Android, occupy Wall Street

Android, Wall Street Deal

Could this really happen?

What if a race of android were created to give humanity a way to survive in desperate need? Android get in shape society in their saving power. In the early prototype androids would probably be weak and senile, and have limited computing power. But with the work of developers, they become strong cyber-beings with powerful computers and intuitive software application. Once they were ready with Android could become a valuable demographic group in society. That would have the effect, especially with the example, but if given enough political weight, which could tip the balance against financial crises and environmental disasters.

Make sure they occupy Wall Street and European banks too for that matter. Imagine the special prosecutor, Fitzgerald, for example, armed with android assistants, education and fixing the financial system in America. High concentrations of wealth and institutions "too big to fail" and could be reconfigured to be more diverse and safer group of institutions, which would be a defect in a self-correcting others. And such an error would reduce not the world's financial system, as we saw in 2008. And such a bank can be rescued by others, with financial reserves from all, or, if necessary, be allowed to fail.

The right to fail is a precious gift for the people because it led to all kinds of progress, change and progress. Even football coaches talk about teachable moments, and we hope they are not playing to lose.

The wealth could be better invested in small businesses and the American people, because the middle class is too big to fail. And if the 'droids, bankers, and 99% called the Legislative Assembly and the laws of fashion to solve our economic problems, to restore America's leadership, the Bill of Rights restored to its former high position? In fact, we'd all be more comfortable result.

If the term Android was usually enough, all this would be an option. How long would it be allowed to go on even before an internal audit would be to put an end to all this? Such a glitch if freedom Android would not be allowed to go on too long. Wow, they had "droids go to town, perhaps an upgrade would not matter. And if we managed without having to use the droids?

How long could such profound changes to the system last? The Chinese say: "Wealth can only last for three generations." And they know that this is true of bitter experience.

Hopefully that 99% is still a peace movement, and that change occurs by consensus and the best attitude. Helping people build a good foundation, and investing in wealth in a positive way, has a lot of joy, a few rich people came to experience. Indeed, the middle class, which is outside the New Deal, authorized persons and families to become very rich. So do not worry.

In the new book Isly, do android Esly wonders to save humanity from disaster after another. But it goes all wrong when Isly springs spontaneously from Esly begins to replicate, and goes on his own mysterious mission. A resurgence of Joseph Dane is the case with Blue Grass, his sidekick colorful and TatarKhan, Hypernet Master, continuing a dangerous and desperate attempt to find what causes this problem and to prevent the company to become. Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been announced | pictures and details

If you are someone who aware about new mobile phones like me, you may already know that Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the one of the most rumored mobile phone like iPhone 4S. the reason is Google officially releases a mobile phone with major Android upgrade and most of the times, it's a breakthrough. they released Nexus one for Android 2.1 then Nexus S for android 2.3 now the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. this phone was rumored as Samsung Nexus Prime but finally Samsung has attached it to their Galaxy series.

So the most important thing of this phone is it's OS, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. this is the first phone which comes with Ice Cream Sandwich OS and according to the rumors, most of the features looks like in honeycomb OS. however there are tons of features but i will point out most important ones.

the Android 4.0 has a improved lock screen and now it supports facial unlock. also there are lots of improvements in existing apps. now the gallery app has a photo editor, the camera app has lots of new features etc etc. also the Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a new app called People which is mainly focused on social networking.

i think that's enough about the OS now lets talk about the hardware features of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. it has a 4.65 inch huge Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and the screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels. this is a very high figure because that resolution is almost similar to the resolution of my laptop. there is no physical keys at the bottom, like in HoneyComb, all keys are virtual.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 5Mp main camera but i expected it would be 8Mp. however it has lots of new features like Touch focus, geo-tagging and face detection. also this camera is capable of to record 1080p videos at 30fps rate. there is a 1.3Mp camera for video calling and it's better than a VGA camera.

the next important point is the processor of this phone. even if there are 1.5 GHz dual core phones available in the market, Galaxy Nexus has a Dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 CPU. i think the reason might be to reduce the cost. it has a 1GB RAM and available in 16 and 32GB versions. also i noticed something special, that is there is no memory card slot in this phone. it seems Samsung has learned a lesson from Apple.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a Barometer sensor. this is the first time that i saw a Barometer sensor in a mobile phone. some times there may be other uses of it, but we have to wait until this phone released.  the battery capacity says to be 1750mAh and i think it's sufficient for a this kind of phone.
